Two wheeler ownership change/transfer procedure in Bangalore

Hi guys,
Here I am going to describe about the procedure/guidelines for ownership change in Bangalore (Ownership change between the RTO's inside Bangalore city). I had done my ownership change from Indiranagar RTO to Njana Bharathi RTO.

If you do this procedure by your self the cost will be Rs455, and if you go by agent it will vary from Rs.1200 to 1800

Documents/Things Required:
  1. RC original
  2. Insurance certificate copy
  3. Emission certificate copy
  4. Voter ID card copy
  5. Pan card copy
  6. Form 29 (2 set copy)
  7. Form 30 (1 set copy)
  8. Address proof from company, rent agreement and electricity bill (if you are from other state)
  9. plastic cover (for RC, we will get this from stores nearby RTO)
  10. Self addressed Letter envelope with Rs.17 stamp (we will get this from stores nearby RTO)
  11. File without thread(This will get from stores nearby RTO)
Steps to follow in RTO office:

STEP-1: First go to help desk in RTO and ask them which room we have to go for change two wheeler ownership.

NB: Staple all the documents together. (first RC original, then form 29, 30, insurance, emission, id card copy, pan card copy, address proof and self addressed letter envelope)

STEP-2: Next go to the room which has pointed by the Help desk officer and ask any officer that we have all the documents and how much I have to pay for change ownership. That officer will examine your documents and will note how much you have to pay for change the ownership in the first document paper which you have submitted (To change RC-  Rs.150 and for new RC - Rs.200).

STEP-3: Next we have to go the room where will do the entry of application with the file(if you don't know, ask the officer I have mentioned in step2). He will just add the details from our file to computer data base. Once he done, he will return our file back.

STEP-4: After that we have to pay the money in cash counter and get the challan.

STEP-5: Next again go to the room mentioned in STEP-2 and submit the file along with the challan (staple challan above documents). Then that officer will give you acknowledgement. That's it you done! Wait 30 days for the new RC.

    1. Currently there is no way to track the acknowledgement number online.
No need to worry, they will send new RC within one month. Incase you were not received within one month you have to go and check with RTO office.
